Significant population growth and economic development across South East Queensland are placing growing demands on the region’s transport network. The Logan West Upgrade Project responds to this need by easing congestion, improving connectivity, and strengthening one of Queensland’s most critical motorway corridors.

The project will deliver additional lanes in each direction between the Centenary Motorway and the Mount Lindesay Highway, a new westbound lane between Boundary Road and Formation Street, and major interchange upgrades—including at Formation Street—to better serve expanding residential and industrial hubs. Motorway enhancements will also improve access for over-dimensional vehicles, supporting safer and more efficient freight movement.

When complete the project will provide reduced travel times by up to 20mins, reduce congestion on the motorway and local raods, remove an estimated 6100 trucks and cars daily and improve road safety, reliability and connectivity for freight accessing key economic hubs.
