Rockhampton Ring Road

Client:

Department of Main Roads (DTMR)

Location:

Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia

Project Value:

$1.98B

The Rockhampton Ring Road is a transformative 17.4-kilometre western link of the Bruce Highway, extending from the Capricorn Highway at Nelson Street in the south to the Bruce Highway and Rockhampton-Yeppoon Road intersection in the north.

At the heart of the project is the construction of a new Fitzroy River crossing between Pink Lily and Kawana—a critical third connection that will reshape how people and goods move through the region. The Ring Road will deliver additional access points into Rockhampton, easing congestion and creating a more efficient, connected transport network.

Once complete, the project will unlock safer, faster connections to major destinations including Rockhampton Airport, Rockhampton Hospital, and key Defence, Education, Leisure, and Industrial precincts—supporting regional growth, resilience, and opportunity for Central Queensland.
