The new Footscray Hospital is one of the state’s largest ever health infrastructure project. Once complete, New Footscray Hospital will support the increasing demand from Melbourne’s booming western suburbs, ensuring families can get the care they need close to home. With an increase of nearly 200 beds, the new hospital will treat approximately 15,000 additional patients and enable around 20,000 additional people to be seen through the emergency department each year. The hospital will see new acute and specialist facilities, clinical support spaces, palliative care and mental health services.

Services Provided

North is the Independent Reviewer for delivery and operational commencement phases on the New Footscray Hospital Project. Jointly appointed by Project Co Plenary and the State VIDA teams, our role encompasses oversight and reporting on compliance across design development, project planning, construction delivery, program performance (including non-compliance reviews and Extension of Time assessments), commissioning, and operational readiness.

By combining technical rigour with practical insight, North provides balanced, transparent assessments that support both parties in achieving contractual compliance, resolving issues early, and maintaining delivery momentum — ensuring the project progresses with confidence and integrity toward successful operational commencement.
