The Molonglo Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant is the ACT’s main wastewater treatment facility and the largest inland wastewater treatment plant in the country and treats approximately 80 to 100 million litres of wastewater per day. 

The facility is about to undergo a major upgrade with the project aimed to boost capacity and modernise the facility by introducing a new membrane bioreactor (MBR) capable of treating up to 97 megalitres of wastewater per day followed by upgrades to existing bioreactors.

North are proud to be partnering with Icon Water on the Lower Molonglo Project – originally commissioned to provide specialist cost, risk and schedule advisor support throughout the ECI process, North Projects were retained to provide Cost & Estimator/Scheduler services for the brownfield treatment upgrade to augment existing plan from 100ML/d to 140ML/d. The team were responsible for delivering precise cost estimates and developing comprehensive schedules to ensure successful upgrade of the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre.

North Projects have recently been awarded an extended commission to continue its work with Icon Water assisting the team providing delivery phase service support.
