The Oven Mountain Pumped Hydro Project is a major off-river, closed-loop development located within the New England Renewable Energy Zone, near the Macleay River between Armidale and Kempsey in New South Wales. Designed to deliver up to 900 MW of generation capacity and at least eight hours of dispatchable energy at full output, the project will play a key role in strengthening the National Electricity Market (NEM) by providing large-scale energy storage and flexible, on-demand electricity.

The project includes an underground pumped hydro power station, upper and lower reservoirs, spillways, waterway and access tunnels, chambers, shafts, and associated road, power, and communication infrastructure.
